Asking is polite, and that's great. But a bio exists so you don't have to wait for anyone. You're asking someone to stop what they're doing to read their own profile to you.

The same goes for:

• "are you open for comms?"
• "how much do you charge?"
• "do you do UI too?"
• "do you have a TOS?"
• etc.

Devs and artists work from everywhere. I might be in PST while you're in WET, which is 8 hours apart.

If you ask for my portfolio at 9 in the morning, it's 1 AM for me. I'm asleep. My "it's in my bio" reaches you at 5 PM. Your whole workday, spent waiting for a link that was on my profile the entire time.

Reading the bio first is the fastest reply you'll ever get.

Click their name, read the bio, open the link. Then send one message with what you need, your budget and your deadline. Even if they're asleep, they wake up to everything they need to say yes.

This page works best when your bio actually answers the questions. Make it easy to read in one glance, then send this link with a clean conscience.

• Say what you do first. Line one is your role.
• Say if comms are open. It kills the "are you available?" message.
• Give a price hint. A starting price or "DM for a quote".
• Label your links. "📁 portfolio" beats a bare URL.
• Add your time zone. "PST 🕐" tells people when to expect a reply.
